About The Position

The Senior Physician Assistant (Sr PA) at Kaiser Permanente's Roseville Hospital in the Urology-Surgery department is responsible for providing high-quality, efficient, and patient-focused care under the supervision of a physician. This role involves managing patients in various settings, including the office, hospital, emergency department, and perioperative environments. The Sr PA may assist in surgeries, perform specific procedures, and mentor less experienced Physician Assistants. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, based on departmental needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years previous experience as a physician assistant within the last five (5) years.
  • Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program.
  • Physician Assistant License (California) required at hire.
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire.
  • Physician Assistant National Certificate required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Fluoroscopy Permit required or must be obtained within 18 months from hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Certification in specialty area preferred.
  • Experience in first assist OR within the last 3 years, with robotics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Examine patients and perform comprehensive physical examinations.
  • Administer or order diagnostic tests and interpret results.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, and wound care.
  • Develop and implement patient management plans and record progress notes.
  • Instruct and counsel patients on health maintenance and compliance with therapeutic regimens.
  • Facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed.
  • First assist in surgeries or perform procedures as applicable.
  • Round on inpatients and perform admission evaluations.
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative education to patients and families.
  • Collaborate with supervising physician and department members on performance improvement activities.
