About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Organizational Project Management Associate passionate about maximizing the organization’s impact in the advancement of civil rights initiatives. The Sr. Org Project Management Associate works alongside the Managing Director, Organizational Project Management, to contribute to and assist the organization with special projects related to building capacity and strengthening internal and external stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate is highly motivated with exceptional organizational and active listening skills able to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization. The Associate needs to possess thorough follow-through skills, sound judgement and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The position will report to the Managing Director, Organizational Project Management, and is not part of the collective bargaining unit.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years project management experience is required; nonprofit experience is preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively and respond with agility to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated follow-through, attention to detail, and integrity, with the tact and relationship-building skills needed to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders across the coalition.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, including the ability to produce finished work products.
  • Experience in MS Office including Word and Excel, Google Drive applications, database systems, project management applications, and Internet research tools.
  • Commitment to centering equity at every level—in individual work style, management, and with The Leadership Conference coalition partners.
  • Deep and principled commitment to civil rights.

Responsibilities

  • Support the tracking and coordination of prioritized organizational initiatives from the Office of the President, ensuring visibility and alignment across interdepartmental work streams.
  • Assist with rapid response coordination during emerging issues, helping to facilitate assessment processes and supporting timely organizational decision-making.
  • Conduct administrative duties such as coordinating and supporting meetings to include departmental and coalition meetings.
  • Manage project-related vendor contracts assisting with managing budget and expenses, including timely submission and tracking of invoices.
  • Identify and implement protocols and processes to effectively and efficiently advance organizational project goals.
  • Support the convening and organizing of listservs and networks, assisting with notetaking and documentation of meetings to ensure clear follow-through on decision making and action items.
  • Serve as a partner to the Managing Director, anticipating needs and providing consistent support across all project management functions.
  • Assist with programmatic work in support of organization-wide priorities, including but not limited to protecting the nonprofit sector from political attacks, preserving civil rights, advancing a multiracial democracy, and ensuring free and fair elections.
