About The Position

The position involves recommending, implementing, and ensuring policies and procedures for uniform compliance with the processing of accounts at all clearance locations. The role requires monitoring and controlling operational activities to ensure consistent processing by developing reports, writing procedures, and resolving customer and technical issues. The individual will initiate and respond to executives, managers, and senior advisors on issues regarding T&B customer partnerships, including contractual agreements, customer requirements, services offered, and quality assurance. Additionally, the role assists with the direction and success of multifunctional brokerage operations, including the development and growth of customer accounts globally. The position also involves analyzing compliance with U.S. Customs and other government agencies' laws and regulations, coordinating the opening of new clearance facilities, and ensuring proper representation of customer interests with U.S. Customs. The individual will identify areas for improvement, coordinate training needs, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • College business degree or equivalent business experience.
  • Individual customs broker's license.
  • Five years of experience in the field/industry required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective relationships with customers, government agencies, staff, and management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. Customs and other federal agency laws, regulations, and procedures governing the customs brokerage industry.
  • Strong organizational and writing skills to develop and maintain corporate policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills required to lead or assist in the development, negotiations, or status reporting of this account.

Responsibilities

  • Recommend, implement, and ensure policies and procedures for uniform compliance with processing of accounts at all clearance locations.
  • Monitor and control operational activities ensuring consistent and uniform processing by developing reports and reporting methods.
  • Write procedures and resolve customer and technical issues.
  • Initiate and respond to executives, managers, and senior advisors on issues regarding T&B customer partnerships.
  • Assist with the direction and success of multifunctional brokerage operations.
  • Analyze and assess compliance with U.S. Customs and other government agencies' laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate the opening of all new clearance facilities.
  • Assist in the design of office layout and organize the implementation team.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of new services offered to customers.
  • Identify areas requiring improvement and coordinate processes to ensure productivity gains.
  • Maintain relationships with U.S. Customs at all clearance locations.
  • Identify and coordinate training needs required for operations at all locations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
