About The Position

Responsible for assisting with key aspects of the patient experience at the Breast Center, including clinical assessment and pre/post visit related tasks. This role involves managing, assessing, educating, and following up with patients for both pre-procedure consent and post-procedure care, coordinating procedures, communicating results, and triaging patient calls. The Sr. Nurse Clinician also contributes to the development of educational and marketing materials and participates in community education events.

Requirements

  • RN degree from an approved educational program required.
  • 5+ years of relevant nursing experience in a clinic setting.
  • Current Minnesota RN licensure required. Must be maintained and in good standing.
  • CPR (BLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of Breast/Mammography Imaging and procedures.
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices and regulations to give and evaluate patient care.
  • Excellent patient care, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to show empathy and caring attitude towards patients, especially when sharing imaging or biopsy results.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population.
  • Professional phone etiquette.
  • Ability to work independently, in a team, and with all levels of the organization required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative required.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Must be competent in using a computer keyboard, email, Centricity, Excellian and PACS or similar applications.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • Breast/Mammography/Oncology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the management, scheduling, clinical assessment and coordination of Breast Center patients.
  • Manage, assess, educate and follow up with patients for both pre-procedure consent and post-procedure follow-up.
  • Obtaining patient medical history, work with schedulers to coordinate patient procedure(s) and manage daily patient flow.
  • Communicate procedure results to patients and follow up with providers for additional care coordination.
  • Triages patient telephone calls and provide consultation as needed.
  • Assists in the development of education and marketing materials for The Breast Center.
  • Incorporate company values into daily interactions with internal and external customers.
  • Other duties may include, checking vitals, provide care for post-procedure complications, statistics tracking, incident reports for injuries, participate in community education events.
