The position involves analyzing, architecting, designing, configuring, installing, and managing enterprise networks and network equipment. The role requires maintaining personal knowledge of network vendor technologies and associated software, as well as engaging in technical administration of Cisco network equipment including routers, switches, access points, and controllers. Responsibilities include configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting enterprise network equipment, resolving complex issues involving a wide range of technologies, and assisting other teams with installing and configuring Cisco Voice Gateways, Integrated Services Routers (ISRs), Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) routers, analog gateways, and other infrastructure equipment. The position also involves working with carriers to configure and troubleshoot Internet, MPLS, SD-WAN, and other WAN circuits and equipment. Mentoring junior network engineers, ensuring network compliance with standards such as PCI and HIPAA, and providing on-call support to bring production systems to operational states are also key responsibilities. The role includes overseeing diagnosis and troubleshooting activities, performing system administration functions, configuration management using tools like Ansible and Solarwinds, and managing the expansion, relocation, and consolidation of voice infrastructure across corporate locations. Additionally, the position requires developing and maintaining network documentation, participating in Agile/Scrum processes for the IT systems team, maintaining relationships with key contacts outside of the area of expertise, and providing root cause analysis for outages while delivering standard operating procedures (SOPs). Other related duties and projects may be assigned as business needs require.
