About The Position

Senior Network Engineers report to the Senior Manager of Network Engineering. The position’s primary responsibilities are providing technical support to our clients, building enterprise-grade networks and serving as a technical resource for other members of the Engineering team. The Senior Network Engineer should be comfortable with leading, multitasking and wearing several hats.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years networking experience
  • Current CCNP certification (or equivalent)
  • Expert understanding of network protocols, firewalls, routers, switching, TCP/IP, STP and RF coverage
  • Expert understanding of wireless local area networks, authentication, security, and encryption protocols
  • Experience supporting customer environments in a helpdesk/support capacity
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems while under pressure and interfacing with clients
  • Custom electronics design/integration experience and familiarity with home automation systems such as Crestron, Savant, AMX, and Control4
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Great organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • Ruckus Wireless Solutions Engineer (WiSE), CWNA/CWNP, ICX/Brocade certifications or equivalent experience
  • Experience programming and troubleshooting Ruckus Virtual SmartZone environments
  • Fanatical attention to detail, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience with TeamViewer or other remote desktop support applications
  • Working knowledge of ConnectWise
  • Python, VBScript, JavaScript, or other scripting experience
  • Apple or Microsoft certifications
  • VPN and SSH experience
  • Web development / database experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to clients
  • Build enterprise-grade networks
  • Serve as a technical resource for the Engineering team
  • Open tickets, diagnose, and resolve escalated Tier 1 and Tier 2 issues with remote clients’ networks
  • Program/provision and QC wired and wireless network systems for deployment at remote sites
  • Provide and maintain thorough documentation of client systems
  • Create and manage client accounts on ARCC and other network management platforms
  • Foster collaboration with clients and teammates by coaching and sharing knowledge
  • Learn new technologies and products
  • Write/publish KB articles to increase the team's institutional knowledge
  • Process RMAs for defective products
  • Provide occasional after-hours emergency support for remote clients
