About The Position

Advanced Technologies Group LLC (ATG), established in 1991 and located in West Des Moines (IA), is the country's premier provider of software solutions to the USA's largest judicial and correctional agencies. All software design, development, maintenance and support is done by full-time employees; we do not sub-contract. ATG is a Microsoft Gold Partner. The general purpose of the job is to independently manage a large mission critical network of servers hosting data for ATG software, support ATG developers as they create and update the Offender Management Suite of programs, and work directly with customers to determine necessary network and server configuration changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university plus ten years of progressive work experience in the field; or Master's degree plus 5 years' experience.
  • Deep knowledge of Windows Server technologies and concepts including Active Directory, DNS, IIS, Storage Configuration, Performance counters and Event Logs.
  • Deep knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation.
  • Deep knowledge of VMware technologies and concepts.
  • Deep knowledge of TCP/IP and working knowledge of SAN infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of cloud technologies like AWS and Azure.
  • Working knowledge of Linux technologies like Ubuntu, CentOS, or Red Hat.
  • Comprehensive understanding of network security principles and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Track performance metrics of every network and server administered by ATG team; includes reviewing processor, memory and hard disk usage.
  • Present corrective action plan to team management for identified issues.
  • Design and write scripts and processes to automate tracking key aspects of the hosted environment.
  • Respond to notifications from utilities monitoring availability and key metrics of servers.
  • Complete projects within time estimates with minimal returned work.
  • Keep supervisor informed on progress of projects.
  • Seek information to update technical skills and business knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by company management.
