Sr. Network Engineer
About The Position
As the Sr. Network Engineer you will play a critical role in designing, enhancing and implementing cutting edge technology that supports our operations. You will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our network that enables us to deliver exceptional services to our customers. The expertise you bring in network security, routing, switching and cloud environments will be essential in ensuring the reliability, scalability and performance of our network infrastructure. You may be hired as a Sr. Network Engineering, or Staff Network Engineer based on your depth of skill and breadth of experience. This position will be located at our office in our San Diego, California.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 8+ years of proven experience as a Network Engineer/Architect or a similar role in designing and managing complex networks.
- Proficiency in network platforms (e.g, Prisma Cloud, Cisco, Azure, F5, etc.)
- Expertise in routing and switching technologies (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs).
- Solid understanding of network virtualization and SDN (Software-Defined Networking) concepts.
Nice To Haves
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CISSP, CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain network architecture, standards, and guidelines to support current and future business needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design scalable, secure, and high-performance network solutions.
- Implement and manage network security protocols, policies, and best practices to safeguard the organization's data and infrastructure.
- Design and optimize network routing and switching protocols to ensure seamless data flow and minimal downtime.
- Design and integrate public cloud networks (Azure, AWS and Oracle), our private cloud and office networks to support scalable and reliable application delivery.
- Network Performance Optimization: Monitor and analyze network performance, identify bottlenecks and come up with strategies to optimize network efficiency.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams.
