A Network Engineer III is a senior level position responsible for providing consultation, design and technical support for network and/or server infrastructure. In a heavily weighted Cisco solutions Environment. This person will be a central point of contact in the analysis of data flow and technical requirements to define network and server solutions to meet projected business strategies. The individual must have a minimum of 7 years of Network/System Engineering experience and mastery level competency in at least one or more technology areas. This individual must have experience in designing and implementing enterprise class network and server solutions. A Network Engineer III must be able to adapt rapidly to change and be adept at multitasking. A Network Engineer III is expected to assist with the development of other employees. The individual may be required in some instances to work various shifts and be available for 24x7 on-call coverage.

  • Designs, implements, and maintains the enterprise network infrastructure to support the strategic business needs of the organization and to ensure maximum uptime.
  • Provides technical analysis of network infrastructure.
  • Recommends, designs, implements and monitors all network infrastructure security solutions and controls and ensures their effectiveness in meeting organizational goals.
  • Acts as the senior lead in network infrastructure-related projects ensuring proper design, implementation, risk analysis, compatibility analysis, and documentation.
  • Monitors and analyzes the network infrastructure and performs regular capacity planning and performance tuning/configuration management.
  • Acts as the senior lead in recommending, coordinating, testing, and implementing key process improvements.
  • Designs and implements business continuity (high availability) and disaster recovery systems ensuring they are properly maintained and tested.
  • Conducts research on new enterprise infrastructure solutions, services, and standards evaluating them for their ability to help meet the strategic objectives.
  • Collaborates with department leadership in assessing near and long-term network infrastructure goals.
  • Minimum of 7 years of Network/System Engineering experience.
  • Mastery level competency in at least one or more technology areas.
  • Experience in designing and implementing enterprise class network and server solutions.
  • High School diploma plus 1-3 years technical school preferred and/or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of network concepts, designs, and operating systems required.
  • Past experience as a Network Administrator or Network Engineer, preferably in a senior position.
  • Experience of network administration and architecture.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols specifically routing protocols like HSRP, BGP, OSPF as well as TCP/IP.
  • Sound knowledge about network security and control models.
  • Experience with network monitoring, diagnostics and analysis tools.
  • CNE, CCNP, or other vendor certification preferred.
  • Data Center infrastructure solutions: Cisco ACS campus LAN and WLAN solutions.
  • Experience architecting and implementing large-scale SD-WAN solutions.
  • Configuring and installing software, routers, servers and other network devices.
  • Designing and deploying functional networks such as LAN, WLAN or WAN.
  • Maintaining technical documentation and mentoring team on technical issues.
  • Creating, overseeing and testing security measures such as disaster recovery and access authentication.
