About The Position

As a Senior Network Engineer Sr Principal, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the Defense Information Systems Agency. You will play a crucial role in advising and collaborating on the development and deployment of mobile, SD-WAN, and other critical networks and systems. Your expertise will guarantee success for critical government communication networks utilized by critical government personnel and ensure performance standards meet the highest standards as determined by defense and commercial industry baselines, metrics, and trends.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Experience with effective communication and collaboration among peers, government officials, and senior leaders.
  • Network competencies, including switching, routing, wireless, firewalls, and voice gateways.
  • Network design and optimization.
  • Network analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
  • US Citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Peplink equipment suite.
  • Project management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineer and liaison between government customer and commercial vendors for solution/product selection, implementation, and support.
  • Collaborate with mission partners, vendors, peer engineers, and government leadership to drive solutions for performance, reliability, efficiency, and implementation compatibility with existing and future technologies.
  • Provide engineering support for tier-2 and tier-3 configuration management, change management, system updates, and hardware/software technical refreshes and fielding in lab and field environments.
  • Act as an engineering liaison, expeditor, and facilitator between supported government customer directorates, organizations, and divisions regarding operational network issues and integration.
  • Serve as a back-up to the on-site Sr. System Engineer, supporting system and network infrastructure design and change.
