BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Network Engineer & IT Generalist to support our Perishable Distribution Center. This hybrid role is primarily focused on network engineering and operations (80%) with additional responsibilities in general IT support (20%). The ideal candidate will have expertise in network infrastructure – Routing, Switching, SDWAN, WiFi along with a solid foundation in IT infrastructure and end-user support to act as the IT person at the Perishable Distribution Center with Subject Matter expertise in Network Engineering.

  • Responsible for supporting the overall connectivity at the Perishable Distribution Center.
  • Work with the various Network teams – L2 NOC and L3 Network team, to support the network infrastructure.
  • Perform device reboots (switch, router, firewall, access points and others), cable replacements, hardware replacements and installations.
  • Triage and troubleshoot Network Switches, Routers, Firewalls, and WiFi.
  • Assist with network and infrastructure support including device reboots, cable replacements, basic switch/port configuration, VLAN segmentation, hardware repair, refresh and installations.
  • Act as remote hands for L2 NOC and L3 Network teams during troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Conduct Industrial Wi-Fi coverage analysis, interference mitigation, and seamless roaming.
  • Maintain cable management of IDF and MDF.
  • Provide onsite support of validation of connectivity during IT change and maintenance windows.
  • Provide onsite technical support for desktops, laptops, thin clients, printers, servers, and handheld devices.
  • Support existing BJ’s locations within the territory, providing onsite assistance as required.
  • Collaborate with corporate IT and third-party vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Train club personnel on proper use and maintenance of supported technology.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all technical work and ensure compliance with company policies and security protocols.
  • Perform Level-1 WMS triage and collaborate with infrastructure & WMS teams.
  • Use ServiceNow for Incident, request, change, problem management.
  • Coordinate vendor service visits & warranty repairs.
  • Deploy and support mobile devices including Honeywell, VoCollect, Zebra TC51/TC52/TC53e, MC9300/MC9400, Apple iPads, and Windows CE devices.
  • Troubleshoot escalated mobility issues using remote management tools and collaborate with users and IT teams.
  • Lead IT project work at the PDC and in-territory locations.
  • Document architectural designs, network communication services, and service traffic data related to mobility solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical support or network engineering role, preferably in a retail or distribution environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Aruba Networks – Switches and Access Points, and Aruba Central, Ekahau Wireless Tools, and Fortinet firewalls is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience working in a fast-paced mobile distribution warehouse – WIFI on fast moving fork lifts.
  • Hands-on experience with Workspace ONE (Airwatch), Zebra and Honeywell mobility devices, and VoCollect.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Android, iOS, and Windows platforms.
  • Working knowledge of networking technologies including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems, POS systems and retail technology is a plus.
