Senior Network Engineer for Operations and Maintenance Location: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO or Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL Clearance Required: Active DoD Secret Security Clearance Travel Required: Up to 10% LaunchTech is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for Operations and Maintenance to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This role provides Tier III operational and sustainment support for enterprise networks, ensuring stability, security, and availability of mission-critical systems.

  • Enterprise Network Operations & Sustainment
  • Work closely with team leads, project managers, network architects, and engineers across service areas to provide Tier III support for the MDA Enterprise
  • Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly battle rhythms supporting maintenance checks and routine network services
  • Serve as an Operations and Maintenance subject matter expert on outage and troubleshooting bridge calls
  • Incident Management & Troubleshooting
  • Generate and provide status reports, network anomaly analysis, and engineering red lines to support maintenance actions, engineering changes, upgrades, and security vulnerability remediation
  • Respond to, create, and troubleshoot incident tickets and work orders within the Remedy IT Service Management system
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support network incidents occurring outside core hours
  • Operational Excellence & Collaboration
  • Support continuous operational improvement through detailed documentation, diligent record keeping, and proactive issue resolution
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment and contribute to mission success through strong technical and interpersonal skills
  • Must have 10, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
  • May be reduced with completion of advanced education
  • Must have 5, or more, years of directly related experience
  • Must have 1, or more, years of experience working in a management or leadership role
  • Must have extensive experience with Internet Protocols such as DNS, HTTP, SMTP, and SSL
  • Must have extensive experience with multiple network types including LAN, WAN, VxLAN, and SDN
  • Must hold a relevant networking certification at the CCNA level or above
  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ or higher)
  • Must be proficient with routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, STP, TCP/UDP, voice, video, VPN/VRF, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, SD-WAN, SD-Access, ISE, and DNAC
  • Must have experience with routing and switching hardware including Cisco platforms, Palo Alto devices, and KG-175 encryptors
  • Must have experience identifying and mitigating STIG vulnerabilities
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Have relevant certifications such as CCNP or CISSP
  • Have experience with vendors including Netscout, BlueCoat, and NetScaler
  • Have experience with Independent Verification and Validation or CORA (CCRI) processes and procedures
  • Have experience configuring and troubleshooting firewalls
  • Have experience managing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telecommunications infrastructures
