About The Position

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior Developer specializing in Microsoft tools to develop tailored microsoft tools at the United States Patent and Trademark office where documents and their manipulation is of primary importance. This position will be located in Alexandria, VA and will be fully remote position.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in computer science (or equivalent) with 10+ years or Masters in computer science (or equivalent) and 5+ years.
• 5+ years .net and C# experience.
• Experience with XLST.
• Experience with PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Linux.
• Familiarity with OOXML in at least academic capacity, but working experience preferred.
• Experience with Visual Studio.
• Experience with Docker.
• Experience with Git.

Nice To Haves

• XML4IP experience in any way is a premium.

Responsibilities

• Support, develop, and debug code written in .Net 8+ C#, XSLT and PostgreSql running in Linux containers.
• Focus on parsing Word documents written in the Open Office XML standard.
• Use tools such as git, Visual Studio, and Docker on a daily basis.
• Familiar with working with the agile methodology and be prepared for 2 week sprint cycles.
• Design and code applications following specifications using the appropriate tools.
• Maintain and modify existing software applications.
• Analyze detailed systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and alternative methods of problem resolution.
• Perform modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures.
• Participate in code reviews to represent reviewed work for adherence to standards and specifications.
• Write or revise program documentation, operations documentation and user guides in accordance with standards.
