About The Position

The Senior Manager of North American Product Compliance is responsible for the development and execution of strategies necessary to ensure all products meet specified certifications and fully comply with regional legal requirements. The scope of work includes collaboration across FBIN to align Product Compliance to enable growth with our Strategic Business Units, leverage supply chain scale, and maximizing the effectiveness of global PD investments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is required; MBA preferred.
  • A minimum 10 years of experience in progressively responsible positions in design and development of consumer durable products, with specific exposure to both the commercial and operations aspects of the business; global business environments preferred.
  • A minimum 8 years of experience in Product Compliance and/or Product Development Engineering.
  • Proven and trusted partner of senior leaders with ability to influence strategic direction and approach.
  • Ability to effectively manage change and complex organizational projects, navigate and influence others in a matrixed environment (management experience preferred), deliver tough messages and resolve conflict.
  • Demonstrated success assessing and managing risk in complex and ambiguous situations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and gain alignment on the Objective, Goals and Strategies required to establish Center of Excellence in North American Product Compliance.
  • Build a high-performance culture with the right structure, processes, people, and rewards necessary to create a sustainable Center of Excellence.
  • Partner with the Strategic Business Units and Operations to identify and execute against key Product Compliance related strategies and tactics.
  • Identify key capabilities needed to achieve the strategies.
  • Ensure appropriate certification approvals from required government authorities and test lab facilities to ensure that the approvals process is completed in advance of product launch or geographic expansions.
  • Support the implementation of Product Compliance process improvements for FBIN that drive greater efficiencies and leverages our global scale to achieve industry leading results; including improvements to eliminate waste, improve productivity, and incremental changes to continuously improve speed to market.
  • Provides governance to Engineering Project Teams as they work to meet Product Compliance related deliverables and milestones within the FBIN Product Growth Engine (product development Stage-Gate) process.
  • Manages and monitors Product Compliance budgets for FBIN NA
  • Develops subject matter expertise of product standards, codes, and regional legal requirements for sale and installation of FBIN mechanical and electromechanical products
