About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Sr Manager Operations Technology - EV leads the design, construction, and operation of EV charging infrastructure required to achieve Republic Services’ Electric Vehicle Strategy. This role will create standardized processes with emphasis on continuous improvement and implementation of Republic Services’ deployment strategy while also influencing and collaborating with cross-functional teams to prioritize deployment that incorporates operational incentives, sales, and government affairs. Additionally, the Sr Manager Operations Technology - EV supports the deployment of electric vehicles and other technical initiatives undertaken by the team, ensuring that projects are delivered to achieve expected business benefit - on time, and on budget. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides input into and drives Republic Services’ Electric Vehicle Strategy across the organization. Manages the EV infrastructure team, EV infrastructure construction/hardware/software partnerships, and EV OEMs to enable successful EV operations on time and on budget. Leads charger infrastructure issue resolution with detailed tracking, root-cause analysis, and long-term durability. Reports charger performance and key performance indicators to leadership. Creates and implements site specific EV operations and maintenance training to minimize opex and maximize uptime. Defines EV routing and infrastructure requirements that include performance, design, scalability, safety, permitting, and grid resiliency. Researches and remains current on fleet charging technologies. Manages EV incentives, favorable EV public policy and municipal contracts to prioritize deployment. Manages multiple construction sites, partnerships, and projects at various geographical locations. Collaborates and reports out to cross functional leadership within finance, procurement, government affairs, sales, construction, and field operations. Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of managing cross-discipline teams that design, operate, or maintain large scale infrastructure systems.
  • Experience with developing EV infrastructure for fleets.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, research new technologies, and develop new strategies for charging infrastructure.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Experience in continuous improvement through the implementation of best practices.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Understanding of business finance, metrics, and vehicle development.
  • Minimum 5 years experience with scalable enterprise-wide project management.
  • Experience with electrical safety and operation of electrical systems OR fuel systems and fuel system operations
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Nice To Haves

  • Fleet operations or electric vehicle experience preferred.
