About The Position

T-Mobile is looking for a Sr Manager, Marketing Program Analytics to lead a team focused on measuring the business impact of marketing programs that offer our customers benefits beyond core wireless connectivity (examples include Netflix on Us, Magenta Status, in-flight WiFi and more). This role favors those who are both extremely analytical and highly comfortable with ambiguity, able to parse insights from real-world data where test and control must often be inferred rather than explicitly structured. This person will lead by example and coach junior members through bottoms-up data exploration, financing modeling, customer research and sound fact-based business recommendations. This person is required to have 7+ years of relevant experience in quantitative analysis as well as a track record of successfully synthesizing and presenting key findings from that analysis to inform and influence key partners including Senior Leadership (SVPs/C-levels). This role is available at our Bellevue, WA HQ T-Mobile offers three days a week in office!

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics is required. A Ph.D. in one of these fields is preferred.
  • Candidates with a Ph.D. should have 4–7 years of relevant industry experience in areas such as investment banking, management consulting, financial modeling, decision support, or corporate strategy, along with equivalent experience using data scripting languages like SQL, Python, or R.
  • Candidates without a Ph.D. are expected to have 7–10 years of industry experience in the same domains, including advanced proficiency with SQL, Python, or R.
  • Calculus, linear algebra, statistics, and probability (Required)
  • Authorities in using Python and SQL for data manipulation and data scripting
  • Ability to build financial models for complex business problems that involve real options, financial uncertainties and economic driver analysis
  • Strong communication skills, and validated records of providing decision support and building presentation materials for SVP/C-level discussions
  • Industry experience in investment banking, management consulting, or related experience in financial modeling, decision support and corporate strategy
  • Experience with data scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R)
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach junior members to solve strategic problems that drive go-to-market actions through bottoms-up data exploration, modeling, and sound fact-based business judgment.
  • Identify value enhancing opportunities and key economic drivers through testing hypothesis using rigorous analytical data-driven approach, financial models, real options and sensitivity analysis
  • Coach junior teammate to develop proficiency in decision support analytics. Examples include but not limited to: (1) Extract, prepare and model large, complex data sets using a combination of skills, including mathematics, statistics, and programming language such as SQL, Python, R; (2) Monitor change in new program launch and promotions, and create detailed quarterly promo calendar by writing Python and other text extraction codes
  • Lead data quality assurance effort and work closely with data support team to ensure high quality data are produced for analytical purpose. Ability to write complex SQL to link and validate large data set across all lines of business
  • Construct Senior Executive level (SVP and C-level) presentations on complex analytical findings in clear, concise and decision-impacting manner. Possess the ability to influence leadership through fact-based analysis and drive positive business outcomes
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, Sales and Operations, Supply Chain, and with external strategic partners to evaluate service and device pricing, product portfolio optimization, customer behavioral modeling, special offer impact analysis, and distribution channel strategy.
  • Develop prototypes to solve challenging and new business problems and ensure enterprise value maximization
