Your role at Vantive The Sr. Manager, US Contracts leads the end-to-end operational management of all US commercial and government customer contracts, spanning bid development, contract execution, pricing administration, contract‑related payments, and ongoing lifecycle maintenance. The role stewards SOPs, training, audit readiness, and cross‑functional partnership to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely execution. The manager also provides oversight and collaboration on certain redline workflows with Legal and peer contract leaders. This role is designed to remain flexible to the evolving needs of the organization. The Sr. Manager drives continuous improvement by streamlining processes, eliminating inefficiencies, strengthening controls, and advancing the overall maturity and effectiveness of US contracting operations.

Requirements

  • 8-12+ years in Contract Management, Pricing, or Government Contracting within medical device/pharma/healthcare.
  • Proven leadership of contracting operations teams with ownership of lifecycle execution and pricing administration.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills; strong process discipline and attention to detail.
  • Hands-on experience with Enterprise systems, Contract Lifecycle Management, and pricing tools (e.g. JD Edwards, Icertis, BAMS).
  • Proficiency with Excel and BI tools (e.g. Cognos, Tableau, or Power BI).

Nice To Haves

  • Federal/VA/DoD contracting exposure (SAM.gov workflows, DAPA maintenance, fee/reporting, FSS tracking).
  • Experience leading change management and multi-workstream process improvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred and is required for candidates without the required years of experience; advanced degree or contracting certifications (e.g., NCMA) are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Contract Lifecycle Management (Commercial & Government) Own the full lifecycle for bids, proposals, contracts, amendments, extensions, and contract document repository (metadata, version control, audit trail). Ensure accurate, on-time contract set-up and maintenance to prevent billing and cash flow delays and customer disruption. Serve as escalation point for complex set-up/maintenance issues; lead root cause analysis and corrective actions. Coordinate ad-hoc analysis and reporting for national/regional account needs and leadership requests.
  • Government Contract Management Oversee federal/DoD/VA submissions and modifications, including regular SAM.gov solicitation review, award packages, renewals, and equipment/lease documents. Maintain logs of open bids and historical bid analysis; ensure timely government fee payments and required reporting (e.g., FSS tracking customer data). Maintain operational oversight of government-specific platforms and pricing programs such as DAPA and BAM pricing. Act as (or delegate) company point of contact on government sites and awards, coordinating with Marketing and Sales as needed.
  • Pricing, Payments & Contract Execution Oversee pricing set-up and updates for contracts, amendments, and renewals in ERP/CLM/pricing systems. Manage contract-related payments (e.g., rebates and admin fees) with accuracy and on-time settlement. Partner with Finance and Accounting to optimize accrual accuracy and reporting/controls best practices
  • Redline Oversight & Collaboration Provide cross-functional collaboration on redline workflows in partnership with Legal and peer contracting leaders. Maintain visibility to redline trends, fallback positions, and risk areas; ensure consistency with SOPs and playbooks. Keep scope flexible to accommodate potential future organizational design changes
  • SOP Governance, Training & Quality Assurance Own and ensure continuous updates to SOPs, training documents, and procedural bulletins for pricing & contracting. Lead new-hire onboarding and continuing education for analysts. Coordinate with Contract Development Team on templates and master documents. Conduct individual and team audits; establish quality checks and corrective actions to reduce rework and errors. Support internal control testing and ensure documentation supports S-Ox requirements (e.g. Price Override reports).
  • Cross-Functional Business Partnership & Deal Support Serve as primary business partner (i.e. to Sales, Finance, Marketing, Legal, Business Operations, IT) for contracting matters. Provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting to support contract decisions and pricing strategy. Drive standard operating cadences (KPIs, reviews) that enable alignment, simplicity, and operational efficiency.
  • People Leadership & Continuous Improvement Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team. Implement project and change management discipline to simplify, standardize, and automate processes; measure impact via dashboards and KPIs. Lead or participate in cross-functional initiatives to improve cycle time, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Contract System Stewardship & Transition to Vantive IT Ownership Lead the business-side transition to full Vantive ownership of pricing and contracting systems, including vendor coordination, roadmap planning, and automation. Serve as enterprise steward and Business Application Owner (BAO) for contracting and pricing platforms (e.g., BAMS, Icertis, Deal Earnhart, Advanced Pricing Management). Ensure system stability, data integrity, governance, user access, and adoption. Oversee system validation, reporting, S‑Ox aligned controls and KPIs, and audit readiness.
