About The Position

The Senior Manager of Claims at Exelon is responsible for directing the personnel and activities of the Claims operation, which includes managing general liability, insurance, claims management, litigation, and claims research. This role focuses on developing and implementing strategic initiatives to maximize profitability and reduce liability exposure while fostering a high-performance culture and promoting diversity within the team. The position may require extended hours during emergencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Insurance, Business or related field.
  • At least 10 years of related experience in insurance, claims administration, risk management or Law.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • In lieu of degree, 12-15 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of conflict management and negotiation.
  • Proven leadership ability in a high performance culture.
  • Proven high-level management skills in coaching and facilitating business competency.
  • Proven performance management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively and foster culture change.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process enhancements and efficiencies including technology and performance.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, customer awareness and ability to create value.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of short and long-term strategic initiatives designed to maximize Company's profitability and reduce exposure to liability losses.
  • Manage the overall regional Claims operating budget and accrual account. Establish and monitor business plans and division objectives.
  • Develop and maintain an environment that fosters a high performance culture and a learning environment. Lead the Claims team in promoting diversity.
  • Provide leadership to and development of the Claims team. Provide accurate and timely feedback regarding performance and operations.
  • Conduct Performance Planning and Appraisal process. Identify opportunities for growth and learning.
  • Interface with other departments in the Company and represent the Company regarding liability risk and claims management issues.
  • Facilitate open and honest communication with Claims staff. Assure that upward communication is integrated into the process, including employee grievances and complaints.

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: USD $124,800.00/Yr. - USD $187,200.00/Yr.
