This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in dimensional inspection
  • Experience in CMM, Romer Arm, Laser Tracker, Keyence or similar
  • Outstanding blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 or 2009 or 2018 standard
  • Experience with Spatial Analyzer Inspect software
  • Experience inspecting tight tolerance, high value components
  • Experience with Siemens and Renishaw probing for OMI (On Machine Inspection)
  • Experience with CNC machine tool calibration and volumetric error correction
  • Experience with CNC machine tool Ballbar checks
  • Strong computer software skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Suite Programs
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in dimensional inspection of aerospace components preferred
  • Aerospace quality inspection experience
  • CAD software knowledge
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware

Responsibilities

  • Handle preparations for parts requiring non-contact inspection scanning methods
  • Inspection Software Quality Assurance
  • Program, setup and operate portable CMM inspection system
  • Perform Manual Layout on granite table of complex hardware
  • Using design data to inspect large assemblies, sub assemblies, additive manufactured, machined and received components
  • Provide feedback to engineers with dimensional data
  • Document, track and complete nonconformance reports
  • Provide inspection time estimates
  • Program and setup CNC Machines for OMI (On Machine Inspection) using Renishaw CappsNC
  • Conduct CNC machine tool calibration and volumetric error correction to qualify machine tools for OMI (On Machine Inspection) of machined components
  • Conduct Ballbar or other health checks to confirm volumetric accuracy of CNC machine tools
  • Maintain and supervise equipment calibrations
  • Process improvement
  • Maintain configuration control on files and job records
  • Safely work within an industrial environment
