Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology
Must have a minimum of 5 years experience
Must have an understanding of all laboratory sections as a generalist that may include: Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Microbiology, immunology, and urinalysis.
Knowledge of specimen processing, specimen handling and phlebotomy are needed.
MT-ASCP
Exhibits strong interpersonal skill; technically competent.
Ability to adequately use, or learn to use, the department’s computerized system and its associated devices.
Adaptability and flexibility necessary for work schedule and patient care requirements.
Good command of the English language and medical terminology
Must be able to cover alternate shifts (for call-offs, sicknesses, emergencies, other situations) and weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of complex laboratory tests and procedures on neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients according to established standards: maintains and/or calibrates scientific equipment.
Provides teaching and education to lab students and other personnel.
Responsible for maintaining inspection readiness at all times.
