About The Position

The Sr. Medical Staff Specialist functions as a liaison between the Medical Staff Specialist of Piedmont Hospitals, allied healthcare professionals, legal counsel, and administration with regard to system-wide credentialing processes, interpretation and application of DNV standards, medical/legal issues, state and federal guidelines, and regulatory agency guidelines as they relate to credentialing, peer review and compliance issues. This role coordinates all aspects of the credentialing and privileging process for medical staff initial appointment, Advanced Practice Practitioner, reappointment, and temporary privileging by reviewing all required data for each applicant within the defined timelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Four (4) years of medical staffing experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • If no degree, a total of ten (10) years of experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist ('CPCS') or Certified Medical Staff Coordinator ('CMSC') certification strongly preferred.
  • Cactus experience preferred.
