About the position

The Sr. Mechanical Engineer at Glumac, A Tetra Tech Company, will lead the mechanical discipline team through various projects from concept to construction completion. This role involves designing sustainable mechanical systems for buildings across multiple sectors, including Commercial, Education, Government, Healthcare, and Hospitality. The successful candidate will ensure the quality of engineering designs, maintain technical communication with clients, and act as the Engineer of Record, while also managing project teams and participating in budgeting and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical discipline team through projects from early concept to construction completion.
• Design and plan sustainable mechanical systems for buildings and facilities.
• Ensure overall quality of engineering design, adhering to Code and Client's expectations.
• Lead technical communication with clients on MEP topics.
• Act as Engineer of Record for projects.
• Manage assigned project teams, including budgeting and scheduling.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff.

Requirements

• Current PE license is required.
• At least 15 years of overall experience in the AEC industry.
• Proficiency in HVAC design and sustainable building practices.
• Experience using software such as REVIT, AutoCAD, Trane Trace, IES, and MS Office for complex calculations.
• Strong knowledge of Building and Mechanical Codes and Standards.

Nice-to-haves

• LEED AP BD+C accreditation is desired.
