About The Position

Fieldpiece is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing R&D team! The ideal person is curious and tenacious with strong critical thinking skills and 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience creating electromechanics and/or mechatronic products. You understand the design process and working with suppliers/manufacturers to bring your product to life. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering field – Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Physics or related.
  • 5+ years of product engineering experience with strong design skills.
  • Curious, tenacious, entrepreneurial, collaborative nature that is focused on the customer.
  • Experience using RCCA, FMEA, Fault Trees, Ishikawa Fish Bone diagrams.
  • Experience with tools such as SolidWorks, LabView, and others.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of electromechanical / mechatronic devices in the areas of psychrometrics, thermodynamics, HVAC, heat transfer, cooling, materials, measurement systems, etc. is a big plus.

Responsibilities

  • Research, analyze, design, develop, test, and validate new products.
  • Determine feasibility of development within constraints and work internally and externally to solve complex engineering problems that result in best-in-class products.
  • Document requirements and product specifications using tools such as SolidWorks.
  • Conduct and/or review the testing of new designs, interpret test data, and recommend corrective actions with the team and suppliers to ensure optimum functionality and quality.
  • Spend time with customers to understand what they need and deliver solutions.
