As part of a design team, the primary duty of the Senior Mechanical Engineer is to perform engineering duties in planning and designing HVAC systems to be used in construction of various structures, systems, or equipment. The candidate shall have experience with supervising and leading a group of employees. This position is based in AVCON's Orlando, Florida office ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (may include but are not limited to) : Independently evaluate, select and standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria on moderately complex Review plans and prepare or review technical specifications, contract documents, and Assist in the resolution of design problems that may include field investigation or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by Build a strong network of new and existing clients and manage client relationships and client satisfaction. Participate in developing and expanding the team through strategic planning and the development and implementation of the firm's overall business and marketing strategies. Draft cost estimates, periodic reports covering construction activities, pay estimates, and data necessary to document acceptability of materials and quantities for final Make design recommendations, adaptations, and modifications based on actual field Assist in the development of technical information to support marketing Evaluate contractor's job performance and compliance with construction Lead QA/QC efforts for department. Mentor and supervise production efforts of junior staff. Provide feedback to Team Manager regarding status of department workload. Nights and weekends are generally not required but may occasionally be necessary with little or no advanced notice.
