About The Position

The Sr Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems while adhering to budget and timelines. The role involves generating 3D models of enclosures and mechanical packaging, as well as assembly drawings using SolidWorks. The engineer will also create conceptual designs, PCB board designs, layouts, and packaging in SolidWorks. A strong focus on product creativity and attention to detail is essential. The position requires developing and building prototypes for functional testing, analyzing and testing existing products for improvement, and collaborating with all departments to resolve manufacturing issues. Knowledge of mold making, dies, tooling, assembly, and manufacturing processes is crucial, along with experience in fiberglass and foaming. Some injection molding experience is also beneficial. The engineer will produce and support technical and engineering documents such as Spec. Router, ECO, and ECR.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree with an emphasis in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience related to the duties
• 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment as a process owner
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Good knowledge of FEA analyses for thermal, stress, and vibration analysis
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, and quality specifications
• Ability to read and understand basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing is a plus
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience in fiberglass and foaming
• Some injection molding experience

Responsibilities
