About The Position
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Suspension at PACCAR, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of heavy-duty truck suspensions within the Core Suspension group. This position involves managing suspension-related projects from inception to completion, covering various components of the truck including front and rear suspensions, axles, brakes, outer-ends, power steering, fifth wheels, and end-of-frame systems. You will be responsible for completing work related to Requests for Engineering Information (REIs), regulation changes, Plant Liaison Requests (PLRs), field service, and OAR support. This role requires you to gain a comprehensive understanding of the project release process by collaborating with both internal and external organizations. Utilizing Creo, you will create optimized parts and assemblies of complex designs, ensuring that the designs are validated through collaboration with various stakeholders. You will navigate the Product Creation Process, employing Tollgate methodologies to manage projects effectively and report updates. Regular application of Six Sigma skills will be essential in this role, as you will be expected to contribute to process improvements and quality assurance throughout the design and development phases.
