The Sr. Materials Engineer for Medtronic, Inc located in Danvers, MA will perform process design, development, and materials selection to support new and improved extruded catheter sub-assemblies. This role involves maintaining a polymer rheological characterization program to shorten the materials selection process by benchmarking melt properties. The engineer will work with multi-layer Extrusion or Injection Molding processes and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Responsibilities include leveraging Installation qualification (IQ), Operational qualification (OQ), and Performance qualification (PQ) to develop new processes while authoring validation reports. The position requires working with various polymer resins, providing daily production troubleshooting, and yield improvement. The engineer will apply Design of Experiment (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools to optimize processes and leverage root cause investigation as part of problem-solving and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA). Additionally, the engineer will develop a tooling maintenance plan and oversee tool readiness while implementing and following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). This position works in a hybrid model and will be onsite in Danvers, MA for 4 days per week.
