Power & Cooling (PAC) team is seeking a results-oriented individual with strong business judgement skills and experience working with internal and external stakeholders to own material planning for Data Center Power & Cooling Equipment. Our Material Planning Managers are high-energy self-starters that are excited to work across different functions to deliver power and cooling equipment to our data centers globally. As a member of the Power and Cooling Supply Chain Management Team, this role's primary responsibility is to manage storage solution, track inventory and track material milestones from Design to Delivery. You will be the single threaded leader and first line of escalation for any storage or inventory related issues. Requirements

  • 2+ years of program, project or product management, or leading product implementation experience
  • 6+ years of related industry experience
  • 8+ years of data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience in data centers, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companies
  • Experience in data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent
  • Experience in procurement practices working with engineering, supply chain and Tier 1 OEM partners

Responsibilities

  • This role bridges the gap between procurement, production, and distribution to ensure that the right materials are available in the correct quantities. They monitor stock levels periodically. Lead regular cycle counts and annual physical audits to reconcile records with actual stock.
  • The Materials Manager is a single threaded leader who serves as the orchestrator of long-lead equipment (LLE) planning and delivery execution for AWS data centers. This role drives material tracking, milestone tracking, and inventory management.
  • Demand Planning and Forecasting- You will spearhead the development and maintenance of a rolling three-year forecast for storage. They will work with each supply manager to build a storage forecasting model and define requirements for tracking inventory.
  • Milestone Management and Progress Tracking- As the single-threaded owner of milestone tracking, you will monitor the critical path from forecast creation through design, funding, delivery, and commissioning. This comprehensive tracking system enables proactive identification of potential delays, with a goal of maintaining 100% milestone achievement rate. You will exercise high judgment in determining when to escalate risks and which mitigation strategies to pursue, ensuring that potential delays are identified and addressed before impacting construction schedules.
  • Risk Management and Prioritization- Your role focuses on tracking supplier delivery commitments against construction need-by dates, serving as an early warning system for potential schedule impacts. While Global Supply Chain Managers handle supplier negotiations, you will partner with them to highlight risks and support mitigation strategies. As the key liaison to the business, you will drive build prioritization decisions, maintaining a dynamic risk register that drives predicting and preventing delivery delays.
  • Post-Delivery Support and Issue Resolution You will serve as the primary escalation point for post-delivery challenges at construction sites, including quality concerns and resource constraints. This responsibility requires building trusted relationships with suppliers and supply managers. When needed, you will lead war room sessions to resolve critical issues, targeting prompt resolution of issues.
