Seneca is seeking an experienced and highly competent natural gas marketing professional who will work independently, executing marketing responsibilities and evaluating commercial risks and opportunities. The Sr. Marketing Representative will serve as an integral member of the Marketing team with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:

Requirements

  • This position requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in natural gas trading, optimization, scheduling, analysis, origination, and business development.
  • Strong economic evaluation and analytical skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of natural gas pipeline grid and pipeline tariffs.
  • Proficient in gas sales contracts and gas transportation agreements.
  • Self‑motivated professional with the ability to work independently and consistently deliver results.
  • The successful candidate must be authorized to work in the United States of America.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently to identify and evaluate marketing opportunities and risks and present information to internal teams to support commercial recommendations and decisions.
  • Participate in and recommend new deal structures, conducting thorough risk analyses to assess impacts on long‑term transactions and value realization.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional Seneca teams to evaluate potential land and production acquisition opportunities.
  • Analyze pipeline and gathering options for existing and prospective assets.
  • Understand the commercial risk associated with existing and future firm transportation capacity and how structured transactions would impact price realizations.
  • Analyze gas market price trends and prepare data, graphs, and presentations to support sales recommendations.
  • Accumulate market intelligence both at the regional and macro levels to support strategies to provide additional value.
  • Prepare market research, analysis, and presentations that translate complex contracts, risks, opportunities, and market data into clear, actionable insights for all levels of management.
  • Analyze Seneca assets and develop recommendations to extract additional value.
  • Develop and maintain industry relationships to identify, originate, and create new commercial opportunities.
  • Manage trades in the QCM system, as well as other applications.
  • Process daily pipeline nominations; monitor imbalances and verify allocated transportation quantities.
  • Collaborate across departments that utilize marketing data to support operational, commercial, and strategic job functions.
  • Engage with the Director of Marketing and the Legal Department to ensure effective review, alignment, and execution of transportation and sales contracts.
  • Comply with Seneca’s EHSQ policies, standards, and procedures and demonstrate active and regular involvement in EHSQ programs.
