We seek a Senior Marketing Manager experienced in software to join our team that envisions and delivers the robotic software strategy and roadmap to enable the OTTAVA™ surgical robotics experience. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the vision and delivery of the OTTAVA™ Robotic Surgical System. You'll lead upstream marketing activities related to product software in preparation for a successful commercial launch, including software feature definition, go-to-market strategy, and collaborating with R&D and cross-functional partners to achieve critical development milestones and drive key decisions. This is an exciting time to join our rapidly growing team and partner across the OTTAVA marketing team to help build and deliver J&J MedTech’s multi-quadrant surgical robotic system to markets, globally. We are looking for a self-starter with a proven track record of delivering successful products in a highly matrixed environment, someone who can truly make a difference.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering or equivalent. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant and progressive business experience.
  • Experience with software-enabled products in a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional partners and across organizational boundaries.
  • Ability to influence and drive to decisions with leadership stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated previous experience of successful product development and launch of a software-enabled device.
  • Expertise in conducting market research, competitive analysis, gathering user feedback, and articulating reasoning behind product decisions from a customer perspective.
  • Self-starter with excellent communication skills and a strong analytical mindset; ability to drive data-driven decisions that align with business goals and strategy.
  • Passion for conceiving, creating, and designing meaningful, innovative products.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with surgical robotics and/or class II - III surgical devices.
  • Knowledge of key areas relevant to software and digital, e.g., edge computing, computer vision, AI/ML.

Responsibilities

  • Act as upstream marketing lead for OTTAVA product software, working closely with cross-functional team in advancing projects through development stage-gates and delivering on critical business objectives.
  • Lead and refine the OTTAVA software roadmap and release strategy.
  • Continuous gathering of customer insights and competitive intelligence for robotic systems and advanced software capabilities including AI/ML.
  • Ensure product features exceed customer expectations and solidify our value proposition.
  • Collaborate across R&D, Regulatory, and other departments to foster continuous innovation.
  • Develop customer-facing assets to support OTTAVA commercialization activities in close collaboration with marketing and commercial partners as well as external agencies.
