About The Position

Avantor is looking for a Sr. Manufacturing Operations Specialist to be responsible for safely producing products to meet customer expectations. The Sr. Operations Specialist engages with a matrix organization to effectively schedule production, improving quality and productivity. This is a full-time position located at our Paris, KY office.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent degree.
  • 2+ years related experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software, i.e. Excel and Word.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in daily essential programs: Process Map, EtQ, MasterControl, SAP, eMaint, and Workday desired.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Quality team to improve Right First-Time performance.
  • Forecasting production so adjustments to scheduling can improve through put in production.
  • PSM related actions while coordinating with engineering.
  • Organize plans during planned USP water sanitizations that affect processes throughout the plant while assisting Operations Manager to Run at Risk Deviations during these events.
  • Attending weekly maintenance scheduling meeting to ensure PM compliance and required work orders are scheduled to minimize impact to production.
  • Fully schedule area assets with Planning/Supply Chain to meet customer requirements and meet site commitment to IOP schedule.
  • Scope and execute margin expansion projects to improve area productivity or reduce cost. Including Capital projects to be written, reviewed, and approved.
  • Partner with Training organization to develop matrix content and schedule to qualify new associates. Develop Standard Work for associates to produce consistent results.
  • Serve as a resource for area supervisors, helping to develop consistent management practices for training, development, and coaching employees.
  • Serve as a backup to area Operations Manager when needed.
  • Complete Corrective and Preventative actions assigned from customer complaints and audits. This includes overseeing all CAPA’s, Complaints and Deviations for represented departments.
  • Revising Quality Work Instructions (QWI’s) within EtQ (internal program) for represented areas.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and assist with temporary MOC’s.
  • Assist Safety & Engineering with Pre-Start-Up Safety Reviews (PSSR) & Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
  • Complete review of all equipment calibration certificates to ensure compliance is maintained. Review and update IMTE lists as needed per company policy when items are removed or added.
  • Establish and maintain daily data driven spreadsheets that provide uptime, downtime, and production hours.
  • Maintain Team Improvement Boards for each production area with floor engagement and participation to established goals for implementation and completion.
  • Partner with Operations Manager to manage costs in their production area. Develop forecasts and investigate variances to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Lead full RCA investigations for recordable injuries and high severity near misses by utilizing the ABS Groups RCA Forms. Establish and complete action items within Process Map (internal program).
  • Support, represent and participate in Kaizen events for your departments.
  • Serve as backup to Production Supervisors, as needed.
