The primary function of the Sustaining Manufacturing Engineering (ME) is to provide direct support to Manufacturing in resolving Machinery, Systems, and other Process-related problems while leading sustaining projects as a continuous effort to improve the OEE of these systems and improve the organization's KPIs. As a secondary function, the ME team member may also be required to support larger project initiatives when Systems Engineering and Product Engineering require it. This role will require candidates to utilize root cause analysis, World Class Manufacturing (WCM) practices, and troubleshooting skills to solve problems. Must have good interpersonal skills to lead and interact with peers, Maintenance technicians, engineers, and Supervisors.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor's in Engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Preferred).
  • Five or more years of experience in engineering.
  • In-depth understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Proficiency with analytical tools, workflow time studies, and process balancing.
  • Ability to collaborate with program managers, manufacturing leads, customers, and functional leads.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Google Workspace.
  • Understanding of Electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, PTC Creo, SolidWorks, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) New Product/Process Introduction process (NPI).
  • Knowledge of PLCs, Fanuc Robots, and electrical systems.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and the ability to read part and assembly drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of the manufacturing systems' performance and output for the designated area.
  • Subject matter expert of the manufacturing systems and processes for the designated area.
  • Analyze existing systems and processes and identify value-added and non-value-added activities to solve safety, design, and/or throughput challenges.
  • Identify opportunities for improving safety, quality, productivity, and cost reductions.
  • Research and test design ideas to determine feasibility, utilizing lean manufacturing, kaizen, Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis to formulate and support innovation, corrective actions, and improvements.
  • Design and develop robust manufacturing concepts to simplify and improve processes and ensure best practices.
  • Create and maintain required documentation for manufacturing processes, including flow charts, capacity and utilization studies, PFMEAs, standard work, cycle time analysis, and line balancing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain insights and direction.
