About The Position

As a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in automation, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of automated systems across our production lines. Your work will directly impact equipment safety, product quality, throughput, and reliability, driving continuous improvement throughout our Holland, Michigan, facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing engineering
  • 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data analysis capabilities
  • Familiarity with manufacturing process improvement methodologies

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in PLC programming and ladder logic
  • Experience with robotics programming, troubleshooting, and diagnostics
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Excel, and Minitab

Responsibilities

  • Design, install, and integrate automation solutions for plant machinery and equipment
  • Lead equipment modifications and enhancements to improve performance and compatibility
  • Develop business case documentation to support automation initiatives
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair services, ensuring compliance with manufacturer guidelines
  • Implement process improvements focused on safety, ergonomics, quality, and productivity
  • Apply structured problem-solving tools such as A3, KT, and DMAIC (Six Sigma)
  • Collaborate with plant operations to monitor project progress and identify future opportunities
  • Analyze trends and present reports to support data-driven decision-making
