About The Position

We're seeking a collaborative and strategic Senior Workforce Development Manager to lead the design and alignment of training programs and career pathways for operational and skilled trade roles across our Industrial and Infrastructure construction market sectors. In this role, you'll partner closely with stakeholders across the organization-facilitating discussions, gathering insights, and ensuring training initiatives reflect both MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure's vision and the expertise of our operational teams. You will oversee the development of specialized training content, evaluate learning methodologies, and manage vendor relationships, all while fostering a culture of partnership and continuous improvement. This is a new role, and as the function grows, you will build a team of Workforce Development professionals to drive seamless execution and workforce excellence, making a meaningful impact on the company's mission and success. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or combination of education and experience required.
  • Seven+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in construction or maintenance, as well as training and development.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% (e.g. 2 weeks or 10 days per month).
  • The employee must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing.
  • Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Mastec Clean Energy & Infrastructure's Zero Injury principles.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, and related software tools for data analysis and reporting.
  • Deep understanding of curriculum design principles and learning outcome evaluation.
  • Expertise in adult learning methodologies and instructional strategies.
  • Proven ability to take initiative and drive projects forward independently.
  • Capable of working autonomously while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills across diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance practices and continuous improvement frameworks.
  • Skilled in implementing process improvement initiatives to enhance training effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Solid understanding of field operations within the construction industry.
  • Established leadership experience with a track record of successfully managing and developing workforce development teams.

Nice To Haves

  • NCCER Master Trainer Certification and experience with implementing or oversight of NCCER programs preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and evaluate effective training programs using NCCER and other relevant curricula
  • Oversee the rollout and tracking of role-specific training for new field management staff, including Supervisors, Engineers, Superintendents, and Project Managers
  • Partner with stakeholders to assess workforce training needs, especially for field management roles
  • Review relevant HR data to identify skill gaps and recommend targeted development solutions
  • Partner with additional learning teams to build comprehensive career journeys that support employee growth throughout their lifecycle
  • Evaluate options for purchasing or developing training materials based on cost, time, and resource considerations
  • Collaborate with instructional design and learning teams to create relevant, engaging content
  • Monitor and assess training effectiveness, instructor performance, and program outcomes to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and identify areas for improvement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external training providers, businesses, and community organizations to support workforce initiatives and career pathways
  • Work closely with the Director of Learning & Leadership Development on strategic planning, vendor management, and compliance with contractual obligations
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Workforce Development team, supporting staff development and effective training delivery
  • Stay current on trends in talent development and the construction industry to ensure training programs remain relevant and impactful
  • Other duties as assigned
