Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, or other related disciplines.
  • 7-10 years progressively responsible experience in transportation or logistics, preferably with major focus on all facets of transportation management.
  • Extensive Transportation Management Systems experience to include system implementation, operational enhancements, modeling and freight payable systems.
  • Extensive experience in Transportation Carrier management to include contract negotiation and industry best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in Oracle or other enterprise platform.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all inbound POs regardless of terms of sale.
  • Provide online exception reporting, and management mitigations and escalations based on business rules to improve in stock and fill rates.
  • Partner with various supply chain partners including Inventory Management, Vendors, Carriers, DC Directors, and Regional Transportation Managers to develop operational systems and strategies to increase efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Direct the implementation of TMS enhancements to increase productivity, efficiency, accuracy and provide better Store service.
  • Plan, direct and coordinate multiple project teams to ensure Transportation departmental objectives are met and to promote the continued growth of Petco Logistics.
  • Analyze data to determine the appropriate course of action concerning the administration and management of budgets, optimizing chain-wide efficiencies with regard to appropriate and safe staffing of drivers and all fleet/equipment issues.
  • Assist with daily maintenance of TMS data uploads, implementation of new carriers, vendors, or lanes and execution.
  • Manage multiple associates to ensure compliance with PETCO standards and job performance.
  • Independently prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
  • Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with internal and external business partners.
