About The Position

ABOUT THIS POSITION We are seeking a Senior Manager of Systems Engineering to lead the design, automation, and delivery of our on‑premises datacenter infrastructure. This role oversees teams responsible for compute, storage, virtualization, and core systems, with a strong focus on automation, standardization, and project execution. Cloud experience is a plus, but the primary focus is on on‑prem infrastructure excellence.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of systems or infrastructure engineering experience in on‑prem datacenter environments .
  • 3+ years of people management experience leading managers and/or senior engineers.
  • Strong experience with VMware and/or Nutanix platforms and enterprise storage systems.
  • Proven success driving automation and infrastructure modernization.
  • Experience leading complex infrastructure projects end to end.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting hybrid environments or integrating with public cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
  • Familiarity with automation and infrastructure‑as‑code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python).
  • Experience in regulated or high‑availability environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead teams operating and modernizing on‑prem datacenter platforms, including VMware and/or Nutanix environments.
  • Own reliability, scalability, and lifecycle management of compute, storage, and core infrastructure systems.
  • Drive automation across provisioning, configuration, patching, and platform operations.
  • Lead infrastructure initiatives such as datacenter upgrades, hardware refreshes, platform migrations, and modernization efforts.
  • Partner with architecture, security, networking, and application teams to deliver projects with minimal operational impact.
  • Develop and mentor engineering leaders, fostering accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide clear communication on risks, priorities, and delivery progress to senior leadership.
