Job Summary: This job manages software development projects, implements processes, ensures project delivery, analyzes technical issues, collaborates with stakeholders, and communicates technical issues with non-technical audiences. It involves setting operational targets and driving operational rigor. Collaborates with direct team, managers in org, stakeholders such as Product Owners & PMO About the Team The Tech Intelligence team builds internal dashboards, tools, and automation that provide visibility into the operational health of our engineering organization. Our mission is to make engineering performance measurable, transparent, and continuously improving. We partner closely with internal development teams to surface meaningful insights around delivery, quality, reliability, and efficiency — and we build systems that help teams act on those insights. The Role We are looking for a technically strong Engineering Manager to lead the Tech Intelligence team. This role blends engineering leadership, product ownership, and stakeholder partnership. Because there is no dedicated Product Manager, this leader will play a central role in shaping the team’s roadmap — defining features, prioritizing work, and ensuring we deliver high-impact solutions that drive measurable operational improvements. This is a hands-on technical leadership role requiring strong architectural judgment, a deep understanding of software development processes, and the ability to build strong partnerships across engineering teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience
  • 3+ years of engineering management experience
  • Strong technical background building scalable systems on AWS
  • Experience with data pipelines, dashboards, and analytics platforms
  • Deep understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), DevOps, CI/CD, and engineering metrics
  • Proven ability to shape product direction in the absence of a dedicated Product Manager
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building internal developer productivity or engineering intelligence tools
  • Experience defining and implementing engineering KPIs (e.g., DORA metrics, release health, reliability indicators)
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and BI frameworks
  • Experience influencing senior engineering leadership

  • Ensure scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines and services
  • Maintain high standards for code quality, data integrity, and system performance
  • Guide technical design reviews and mentor engineers on best practices
  • Define and own the team roadmap aligned to engineering organizational priorities
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational visibility, developer productivity, and release health
  • Translate stakeholder needs into clear, prioritized features and technical initiatives
  • Make trade-off decisions balancing speed, quality, and long-term sustainability
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with internal engineering teams
  • Act as the primary interface between Tech Intelligence and its internal users
  • Proactively gather feedback and continuously refine tools based on user needs
  • Communicate insights and outcomes clearly to senior leadership
  • Define and track KPIs that measure engineering effectiveness and improvement
  • Drive initiatives that reduce cycle time, improve quality metrics, and increase transparency
  • Enable data-driven decision making across engineering
  • Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing engineering team
