About The Position

Sr Manager, Software Engineer The Sr. Manager, Software Engineer will oversee and manage the software engineering teams and agile processes. This role is part of the Sensor and Actuation division’s electrical & software team, reporting to management of that department. A successful candidate will have passion and experience leading teams in a matrix engineering organization. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer Science, or Software Engineering, or technical related discipline required.
  • 7-10yrs of experience in the aerospace, defense, or automotive industry is preferred.
  • 7-10yrs of experience in requirements-based development per aerospace industry guidance (i.e., ARP-4754, DO-254, DO-178, DO-160) for safety-critical systems and equipment.
  • Demonstrated competency running/directing agile software teams (multi-location).
  • Experience in program management, agile product ownership and launch.
  • Highly effective communicator.
  • Demonstrated success is collaborating, communicating and developing partnerships across multiple sites.
  • Bias for action; Solution oriented.
  • Willing to travel to multiple locations.
  • Must be a U.S. Person.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple software/ firmware teams and agile processes across multiple locations.
  • Collect, manage and deliver against software system level functional requirements.
  • Create, deploy and execute a SW excellence process that appropriately captures the required balance of agile and waterfall development needs.
  • Ensure programs meet design requirements and are delivered on schedule and budget.
  • Implement SW development metrics.
  • Establish and predict velocity.
  • Anticipate technical, schedule and cost risks, implement countermeasures and plans to achieve.
  • Defines, creates and implements diagnostics, plans to debug and resolve issues.
  • Attract, develop and retain a competent and engaged software/ firmware staff.
  • Estimate scope of work, cost and schedule of key development programs while offering high value and ability to hit Say: Do ratio.
  • Ensure that software products meet customer expectations and industry standards throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Collaborate and direct third-party software/ firmware development staff as appropriate.
  • Build positive team environment with high engagement and team effectiveness across multiple locations.
