We are hiring a Sr Manager Software Engineering (Player/Coach) to lead a team building and operating a Healthcare Workforce Solutions (SaaS product) built on .NET and SQL Server. This role combines people leadership, hands on technical leadership (architecture and code reviews), and deep product expertise. A core responsibility of this role is to transition an existing onshore team to effectively leverage the company’s offshore delivery model, forming a single, high performing Scrum team across multiple time zones. The offshore model already exists within the organization; this role will be responsible for adopting it for this team and enabling offshore ownership of delivery end-to-end.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience leading software engineering teams with delivery accountability
  • Strong hands-on background in C#/.NET and SQL Server
  • Proven experience delivering and operating SaaS products
  • Demonstrated player/coach leadership style (architecture + code reviews)
  • Experience setting up and leading offshore or distributed teams
  • Strong working knowledge of Scrum
  • Ability and willingness to become a product expert
  • Excellent communication and cross functional collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture and technical direction for the Healthcare Workforce Solutions SaaS platform
  • Actively participate in code reviews, setting up a high bar for design quality, maintainability, performance, and correctness
  • Provide hands on technical guidance to unblock complex work and support production issue resolution when needed
  • Raise overall engineering standards through best practices, documentation, and technical mentorship
  • Become and remain a deep expert in the product, including workflows, user journeys, configuration, and real-world usage
  • Use product knowledge to guide technical tradeoffs, architectural investments, and prioritization decisions
  • Partner closely with Product Management to define scope, success criteria, and delivery plans aligned to product outcomes
  • Lead the team (across time zones) on a consistent Scrum execution process and successfully delivery not limited to running daily standups, removing blockers, well refined sprints
  • Drive delivery predictability, transparency, and continuous improvement
  • Direct management responsibility to include managing, coaching, and developing engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, and growth plans
  • Design, set up, successfully operationalize, and manage the offshore engineering team
