About the position

The Sr. Manager, Revenue Recognition will be a revenue recognition subject matter expert engaged in a multi-year Oracle implementation and responsible for identifying, analyzing, and documenting current-state and future-state business processes and accounting policies for revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606. This role will support the gathering and validation of system and business requirements, design of future-state processes, and the implementation of revenue recognition business processes enabled by and designed around Oracle Cloud ERP. This role will also serve as a key member of the revenue team in supporting RealPage's compliance for revenue recognition under ASC 606, including ongoing review of customer contracts, new product offerings, quarterly portfolio analysis and annual updates.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Revenue Recognition subject matter expert through the full project life cycle of Oracle Cloud ERP: including planning, design, configuration, build, testing, training and go-live
  • Evaluate and apply revenue recognition principles in a complex SaaS environment that includes new product offerings, contract modifications, gross vs. net considerations, variable consideration, subscription vs. usage and volume-based pricing, bundled products, and other technical topics as needed
  • Evaluates business processes and gathers insights to recommend process enhancements and best practices leveraging RealPage technology stack and incoming Oracle ERP over revenue recognition and financial reporting process
  • Develop and implement revenue recognition policies, procedures, whitepapers and internal controls and plays a leading role in directing change initiatives and process improvements
  • Support the creation and delivery of training materials to support business process changes and ensure the development and adoption of the RealPage finance and accounting group
  • Support and participate in the monthly financial statement close and related reporting as needed; drives improvements through automation and process refinement/efficiency
  • Support the Sr. Director, Revenue Recognition on other projects or duties, as assigned

Requirements

  • CPA and Bachelor's degree with major in Accounting or equivalent are required
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience, including 3+ years of experience in an operational accounting leadership role
