About The Position

WBD is looking for a Senior Manager, Global Brand & Growth Research, to drive the Direct-to-Consumer research and analysis efforts for HBO Max, covering growth marketing, retention, sports and partnership strategy. The Senior Manager, Global Brand & Growth Research is responsible in leading the custom research plan and priority analytics needs through First Party Database (1PD) across Brand, Acquisition, Retention, Partnership & Sports teams. The candidate will be responsible for leading research end to end, analyzing, and socializing the results that generate insights to empower business decisions across the company globally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 7+ years of primary consumer market research and data analytics experience, including hands-on experience with research design (e.g. end to end quantitative research), analysis, report development and stakeholder presentations.
  • Advanced level experience with data querying, wrangling, analysis and modeling: proficient in SQL.
  • Proficiency with at least one of the following: SPSS, Python, Q and/or R or similar statistical analysis software packages.
  • Experience with Looker is a plus.
  • Strong quantitative reasoning with programming knowledge using survey software (eg. Qualtrics).
  • Effective communicator, presenter and influencer.
  • Highly developed organizational, planning and analytical capabilities, including the ability to translate data into meaningful findings and delivering recommendations that lead to informed decision-making.
  • Proven success in establishing relationships, being a high bandwidth communicator, with a track record of excellent cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure without sacrificing accuracy and attention to quality and detail; strong project management skills are essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Media, entertainment or streaming centric business experience is preferred but not required.
  • Branding, Marketing or advertising research experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, socialize HBO Max retention, growth, partnership and sports research and analysis globally.
  • Consult with Brand, Social Media and Content Marketing teams globally answering critical questions for business growth.
  • Lead 1st party data analysis, performing data querying using SQL to identify and profile target audiences, and ensure comprehensive analysis of usage and subscription patterns at both the summarized and individual level.
  • Synthesize data from multiple sources (ad-hoc surveys, 1P behavioral data and syndicated sources).
  • Translate data into a holistic meaningful story and deliver the recommendations to the stakeholders including senior level audiences.
  • Be a thought leader via foundational studies which inform multiple business units.
  • Proactively partner with other researchers and cross-functional partners including Data Science, Strategy, Marketing, Product and Partnership teams.
  • Identify best practices in existing and emerging research and analysis methodologies and lead meta-analysis to guide business decision making.
