The Senior Manager, Regional Marketing, will play a key role in the organization serving both internal and external customers. Working without significant direction, this high profile role encompasses a number of responsibilities including supporting the strategic planning processes for the NA Cellular Therapy business unit; leading market situation analysis, segmentation and targeting, product launch, sales training, forecasting, and enabling sales funnel velocity through ideal customer/prospect experiences; partnering with a cross-functional team of product marketing, sales excellence, regulatory, medical affairs, and sales. This role is a key connection point between internal resources and local sales to coordinate insights and solutions towards commercial success. The role requires a big picture strategic thinker with strong analytical and communication skills to deliver on customer value while still maintaining the comfort-level to dig into the details, as needed. The incumbent must have the confidence and scientific credibility to act as a thought partner for senior executives and to interact with external medical, scientific and industry leaders and market analysts.

  • Supports the annual planning process and leads the development and execution of mid to long-term strategy via market assessments and marketing research, financial analysis, communications strategy, sales training, and launch planning
  • Builds credible strategies through strong critical thinking to achieve the desired vision and commercial outcome despite incomplete or ambiguous information. Demonstrated analytical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems and develops programs with creativity and good judgment.
  • Leads activities to acquire, evaluate, store, and disseminate business intelligence, including VOC market research, market trends, competitive intelligence, and academic and business literature.
  • Can identify and build relationships to execute programs with subject matter experts.
  • Can support potential sales opportunities and engage with sophisticated prospects by championing customer requirements and providing market intelligence. Protects company value handling confidential information.
  • Assess and integrates customer needs and market trends. Translates these into effective marketing strategies, pricing recommendations and value propositions as well as upstream strategic insights to partners.
  • Cultivates strong cross functional relationships and collaborates with key functions (including R&D, new business development, regulatory, clinical, operations, geographic and corporate marketing, and sales).
  • Ongoing and significant contact with industry leaders, customers and other medical professionals in the field, representatives of professional organizations with whom the business is affiliated, and executive/management levels within the business.
  • Extensive knowledge of assigned product applications, therapies, and the markets in which they are used.
  • Master’s/ PhD degree in life science area and MBA highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree of Biotechnology/ life science-related major is a must.
  • 10 years’ marketing experience with 3-5 years’ experience in the life sciences/ cell and gene therapy industry preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in at least one of the following areas: marketing, sales, technical sales, scientist
  • Has in-depth knowledge of bioprocessing applications, R&D, and manufacturing processes, particularly in cell and gene therapy and biologics.
  • Proficient in understanding, analyzing, and summarizing complex technical, market and research data.
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial skill in functional alignment and influence.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills. Relies on extensive analysis, modeling, valuation, and interpretation to make sound, forward-thinking recommendations.
  • Established track record of adding or creating value in a strategic context.
  • Proven experience with strategic planning process, including market and environmental analysis, opportunity assessment, plan development, execution, measurement, and adjustment.
  • Able to assess risk and benefit and recommend risk as appropriate. Makes inferential leaps in thinking to reach a solution despite incomplete or ambiguous information.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge with a phase-gate product development process, product lifecycle or end-to-end product management, including developing new products through phase-out process.
  • Advanced knowledge of marketing techniques such as VOC needs analysis, value creation, product positioning, and marketplace dynamics as they relate to product, price, and promotion.
  • Experience working in the context of a large, complex, global organization with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
