About The Position

The Global Operations Group brings information systems, facilities, supply chain, logistics, and high-volume manufacturing together to drive the engine of our global business operations. We help Lam deliver industry-leading solutions with speed and efficiency, while actively supporting the resilient and profitable growth of Lam's business. The Senior Manager, Quality manages the manufacturing quality teams within two North American manufacturing locations. The quality function works closely with the manufacturing and engineering functions within the respective sites to drive quality into the build and verification processes, adjusting inspection and control systems to address risks and deliver continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with counterparts in product development, supply chain, and field quality operations to fully understand performance from upstream suppliers to downstream field installations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Twelve (12) years of experience in a similar role, supporting a manufacturing quality environment.
  • Five (5) years of experience managing teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated resilience and success working in a global high-tech, matrixed, and highly dynamic environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Domestic travel: 20%.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of professional Quality Engineers and Analysts across two manufacturing facilities.
  • Define KPIs and targets for Manufacturing Quality aligned with factory management priorities and initiatives.
  • Identify deficiencies and areas for development in the Quality Management System and lead the teams in selecting methods and techniques to address gaps.
  • Drive the development of methods and procedures for inspecting and verifying the effective execution of documented assembly and test procedures on factory output, delegating assignments to subordinates.
  • Apply experience and advanced skills in the analysis of factory quality data to drive improvement in operational excellence in execution.
  • Study field installation data to identify trends and implement updates or changes to manufacturing quality defect detection processes to reduce/eliminate escapes.
  • Responsible for monitoring the quality of investigations and RCCA (Root Cause/Corrective Action) conducted by subordinate QEs and stakeholders (Product Groups and Supply Chain) ensuring high probability that issues will not recur.
  • Coach Quality Engineers on their assigned tasks and professional development to ensure team growth in both capability and maturity.
  • Represent the site in quality operations reviews and QMS assessments (e.g. ISO 9001) projecting a strong and effective quality management system.
  • Lead response to factory escalations requiring cross-functional coordination and subject matter expert consultation.
  • Participate in global manufacturing quality network, sharing and adopting best practices with and from other sites.
