About The Position

The Sr. Manager, Product Management for Chilled Water Systems provides subject matter expertise and market knowledge for the Chilled Water market and associated Vertiv product portfolio. The role is expected to have a broader knowledge of all products in the market and Vertiv portfolio, with particular attention paid to the globalization of Chilled Water Systems in the Americas region. The centrifugal chiller product is of most interest. The Product Manager must understand the market, competitive landscape, and the technical details of the product. Responsible for supporting the ongoing sustaining product management throughout its product lifecycle. The product portfolio includes a full range of Centrifugal air- and water-cooled chillers as well as heat recovery and air handling unit products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Ability to travel regularly between China, Monterrey Mexico, Italy, India and Columbus Ohio.
  • 5-10+ years' experience in a product management role.
  • Exceptional research and analytical skills.
  • Strong Technical knowledge of data center cooling products and applications; specifically Chilled Water Systems.
  • Working knowledge of New Product Development Process, customer engagement and field sales.
  • Strong written/oral communication, especially in communicating customer needs.
  • Chinese language a plus.
  • Effectively communicates technical information and complex ideas.

  • Experience with data center focused HVAC solutions, chillers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage/Lead a team of 5 Product Managers and collaborate closely with other Global/Regional Product Managers and Engineering Leaders across the Vertiv group to build-out core competencies for leading the centrifugal chiller category.
  • Develop detailed requirements for new class leading products based on Voice of the Customer and understanding of their product usage and buying journey.
  • Work with the Sr. Director, VP and Product Offering teams to align messaging and product direction with the offering Portfolio/Product roadmap globally.
  • Support development of leading single Chilled Water products including launch plan and execute with regional project manager and cross-functional regional teams for new products in the EMEA, North America and Asia Pacific region.
  • Develop business case(s) for new product(s) and capabilities needed to support the Chilled Water business.
  • Provide 'train the trainer' content for the regional sales and deliver training to support new launches.
  • Develop marketing messaging, product collateral with support from cross functional teams to support new product launches and sustaining product evolutions to include presentations, product demos, competitive comparisons, product documentation, and other sales enablement tools.
  • Act as a sales escalation point for complex customer opportunities.
  • Attend tradeshows, visit customers, meet with partners, and collaborate in industry bodies to ensure an accurate voice of customer is heard in all product plans.
  • Develop / harvest historical sales and margin data for analysis of liquid cooling projects, markets, and product data.
