THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE: The Sr. Manager, Procurement shall lead one or more Procurement teams to timely establish and maintain purchasing articles as well as issue purchase orders within SAP or Ariba for the organization’s +$2B in non-merchandise spend. They shall lead the maintenance and optimization of purchasing systems and processes for all non-merchandise procurement in addition to leading a team or teams of Procurement Analysts who are responsible for issuing Purchase Orders. They shall lead, recommend and provide tools, templates, proposals, policies, processes, leadership and guidance for the Procurement team. The Sr. Manager, Procurement shall work closely with the Strategic Sourcing/Category Management team to understand changes within Ulta’s business. They shall establish and improve the people, processes, technology and governance of the Procurement function. The Sr. Manager, Procurement shall report to the to the Sr. Director of Procurement and will have leadership responsibility for one or more Procurement teams. They shall drive engagement within the Procurement Department and enhance the culture at Ulta.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or 10+ years business experience; advanced degrees are a plus
  • 10+ years related procurement experience
  • 5+ years demonstratable success leading teams
  • Ability to lead a team through the demonstration of procurement best practices
  • Ability to apply the latest in technology, tools, templates and automation to enhance the function
  • Proven experience enhancing the culture within a large organization
  • Thorough understanding of procurement best practices with the ability to lead the development through demonstration and team leadership
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Sourcing, Purchasing, Contracting and Project Management systems
  • Excellent oral and written communicator with demonstrated ability to present to various levels and audiences inside and outside of the organization.
  • Strong organizational and influencing skills across multiple levels within the organization
  • Process improvement and project management skills and experience a plus
  • Creative, influential, unselfish problem solver
  • Collaborative team player
  • Attendance or participation in external industry events and/or membership in sourcing, purchasing or contracting organizations such as ISM or IACCM
  • CPSM, C.P.M., C.C.M. and related certifications highly preferred
  • eSourcing/e-Procurement experience required
  • Occasional travel required

Responsibilities

  • Lead a Procurement team to timely establish and maintain purchasing articles as well as issue purchase orders within SAP or Ariba for the organization’s +$2B in non-merchandise spend.
  • Lead the enhancement of people, processes, technology and governance to facilitate the placement of purchase orders in accordance with Ulta’s policies.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and the Strategic Sourcing team to ensure that all purchase orders are properly created and released with SAP or Ariba.
  • Develop and enhance the people, processes, technology and governance of the Procurement function.
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with suppliers, internal partners, affiliates and professional organizations to bring maximum value to Ulta’s guests, shareholders and associates.
  • Direct the activities of a Procurement team as necessary to support the needs of the business.
  • Coach and develop team members to continue professional growth.
  • Establish a culture of highly engaged individuals.
  • Support and lead procurement activities for all non-merchandise functional areas (goods or services, capital or expense, projects, process improvements).
  • Provide forecasting and budgeting support to the Finance Department for all categories of non-merchandise spend.
  • Provide the necessary data, reporting and information to support the Accounting, Fixed Assets and Accounts Payable Departments.
