About The Position
The Senior Manager of Procurement for Direct Materials is a key member of the Procurement team, reporting directly to the Director of Global Procurement. This role leads both the packaging and ingredients categories. As the Procurement organization at Blue Diamond Growers is on a journey to create a 'best-in-class' sourcing organization, this role is critical in delivering on that mission. This is a very strategic and cross-functional role. Management of the direct categories will include everything from, but not limited to, developing category strategies, leading supplier relationship management (including quarterly business reviews, scorecards, etc), creating should-cost models, negotiating contracts, executing RFPs, developing a risk mitigation plan, collaborating on innovation with marketing and R&D, materials management, deploying and utilizing new procurement technology, implementing and tracking cost-savings initiatives, evaluating the total cost of ownership (TCO), and reporting out on industry and market news and economic indicators. Additionally, the Senior Manager, Procurement has three direct reports - a Senior Procurement Specialist, a Buyer, and a Procurement Coordinator.
