About The Position

As the Senior Manager, Packaging for Naturium, you will oversee packaging development across the entire portfolio. This role involves managing the technical aspects of packaging, attending line trials, optimizing the portfolio, and controlling costs. Reporting directly to the AVP of Operations and Innovation, you will play a pivotal role in the company’s growth and success. This candidate must be able to be in the West Hollywood office Tuesday-Thursday.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in packaging engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in packaging development, ideally within the beauty or consumer goods industry.
  • Expertise in sustainability practices and familiarity with global packaging regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage supplier communications across multiple time zones.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, including managing escalations and implementing creative solutions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ERP systems; familiarity with vendor scorecards is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, with a focus on meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards.
  • Availability for occasional domestic and international travel.
  • Must be able to be in the West Hollywood office Tuesday-Thursday.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical and creative packaging development of primary and secondary components for products, kits, and sampling.
  • Source stock and develop custom-tooled components through wide network of international and domestic suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Product Development and cross-functional teams to manage and execute all packaging development phases and milestones.
  • Conduct and coordinate packaging testing, including 3rd party testing, reviewing results, and resolving issues with contract manufacturers
  • Collaborate with Creative and Marketing teams to develop comps for retailer/internal meetings and photo-ready samples.
  • Review all packaging artwork for technical accuracy.
  • Manage and maintain packaging range boards, specifications master, and ERP system data accuracy.
  • Proactively address escalations, troubleshoot complex issues, and work cross-functionally to implement timely solutions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for supplier and production-related challenges, ensuring effective resolutions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on strategic packaging and sustainability initiatives company-wide
  • Stay up to date on packaging innovations and trends through competitive research and supplier relationships.
  • Achieve cost targets without compromising quality or timelines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with global and domestic suppliers to ensure high-quality deliverables and competitive pricing.
  • Lead strategic cost-saving initiatives and contribute to the development of vendor scorecards and KPIs.
  • Focus on continuous improvement by optimizing planning processes, improving system data (e.g., vendor lead times, MOQs, inventory targets), and enhancing operational efficiency.
