About The Position

The Sr. Manager, Operations Initiatives & Business Analytics is responsible for leading the development and delivery of Store Operations Business Analysis and Reporting. They serve as the primary operations strategic BI partner and provide thought leadership to the operations team and other department leaders to develop key business insights that drive accountability and financial results. This role will balance leading technical experts and strategic thinking, partnering across functions to identify and prioritize critical insights that amplify store performance.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree (Business Administration, Operations Management, Statistics, Economics, or a related field)
  • 8+ years of experience in operations management, business analytics, or a related field, preferably in the retail industry
  • Experience building and leading a high-performing team
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, such as SQL, Python, R, Excel, Tableau, or Power BI
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and driving operational improvements through data-driven insights and analytics
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver results within established timelines and budgets
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing team
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, identify opportunities, and develop innovative solutions to complex business challenges

Responsibilities

  • Identify and deliver operational business analytics and insights aligned with enterprise and department strategies
  • Own and guide Store Ops partners to support programs & initiatives through defining hypotheses, success measures and execution tracking
  • Drive meaningful correlation on key data managed by operations to drive broader insights across guest, business, talent and industry
  • Partner closely with the Director and Manager of Operations Strategy to guide decision-making and prioritization of strategic initiatives through data-driven analysis
  • Lead corporate and field-facing reporting optimization, development and infrastructure for stores, services, boutiques, events, and omni-channel initiatives
  • Oversee analytical support for strategic initiatives
  • Accountable for BI&A strategy and delivery of accurate reporting and analytics, leveraging direct reports and cross-functional partners
  • Manage the enterprise operational metric scorecard development and monthly updates across all departments
  • Serve as the SME on data management for Operations data systems (e.g. Bella, Ulta Connect, Power BI)
  • Ad hoc reporting support for Executive Leadership and critical operational initiatives, as needed
  • Lead and develop a team of managers and analysts to independently support partners
