About The Position

The Sr. Manager of Writing Studio leads a team of talented writers, serving as a creative leader and mentor while driving the development of compelling, high-impact content across multiple formats, including web, social, blogs, and video. This role is a cornerstone of our storytelling efforts, working in close partnership with the Content Studio to bring strategic content plans to life. While not a content strategy role, it is a critical support function, ensuring all writing aligns with broader goals and embodies our bold, purposeful brand tone. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with a strong editorial voice, capable of guiding teams and agencies to deliver writing that resonates deeply with IT tech audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, English, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in writing or content creation, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven expertise in thought leadership storytelling, video scriptwriting, and marketing copy across multiple channels.
  • Exceptional editing and writing skills with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear, impactful messaging.
  • Strong leadership, mentorship, and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with B2B marketing and IT tech audiences, with a knack for crafting narratives that cut through complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of creative writers, fostering high-quality content delivery while inspiring innovation and collaboration.
  • Provide regular feedback and coaching, empowering writers to excel in their craft and grow professionally.
  • Act as a player-coach, actively contributing to key writing projects while guiding the team on brand voice, tone, and storytelling techniques.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging narratives.
  • Work closely with the Director of Content Studio to align writing projects with broader marketing and content strategy goals. Participate in content planning and strategy meetings.
  • Oversee the production of messaging frameworks, ad copy, and customer-facing narratives to ensure alignment with brand and writing guidelines.
  • Guide the development of thought leadership content, particularly blogs and insights, with a focus on clarity, impact, and originality.
  • Bring a nuanced understanding of video scriptwriting, ensuring content resonates in dialogue and visual storytelling contexts.
  • Manage a diverse range of writing projects, including but not limited to social media, Web Copy, Event Messaging, Video Scripts, Blogs & Insights, Customer Advocacy Storytelling, and Internal Support.
  • Conduct brand reviews to ensure tone of voice and writing style consistency across all content.
  • Maintain and update resources such as the Grammar Guidelines, Tone of Voice Guide, and Naming Guide.
  • Drive innovation in storytelling by exploring new formats and approaches that elevate IT tech marketing.
  • Oversee the intake and management of writing requests, ensuring deadlines are met and resources are efficiently allocated.
  • Use project management tools to track progress and streamline workflows.
