About The Position

The Sr. Manager Ocean Product is responsible for overseeing procurement and contract optimization for FCL & LCL rates, ensuring compliance with agreed thresholds. This role involves managing relationships with carriers, providing operational support, and offering pricing guidance to various departments. The position also includes contract management, market intelligence, and requires a strong understanding of the ocean freight market.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, contract management or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the Global Ocean Freight Management industry.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for FCL & LCL procurement of rates, allocation and terms.
  • Cooperates with Operations, RDM, TLD, and Business Development.
  • Continuously optimizes existing agreements against market conditions.
  • Responsible for relationships with Carriers and conducts regular QBRs.
  • Acts as an escalation point for capacity and operations issues with Carriers.
  • Provides operational support by architecting product solutions.
  • Offers selling rate guidance to Operations, RDM, TLD, and Business Development.
  • Collaborates with product leadership on targeted account opportunities.
  • Interacts with GTM for port to port ocean freight sell rates.
  • Responsible for arranging filing of buying rates and proper record retention.
  • Maintains Catapult for new contracts, amendments, and accessorial advisories.
  • Provides weekly market updates and analyzes market disruptions.
